Professional Consultation and Training
In addition to my clinical practice, I have extensive experience providing professional consultation, clinical supervision, teaching, and training. Over the course of my career, I have taught doctoral-level courses in psychotherapy, supervised psychology trainees at various stages of professional development, and provided presentations on topics including trauma, PTSD, moral injury, veteran mental health, and contemporary approaches to psychodynamic psychotherapy.
My approach to consultation and training reflects the same values that guide my clinical work: intellectual curiosity, clinical rigor, humility, and respect for complexity. Whether working with students, clinicians, interdisciplinary teams, or community organizations, I strive to create learning experiences that are thoughtful, engaging, and grounded in both research and real-world clinical practice. My goal is to make complex psychological ideas accessible and clinically relevant while preserving the nuance and complexity that meaningful clinical work requires.
Areas of particular interest include trauma and complex PTSD, moral injury, attachment and relationship dynamics, psychodynamic psychotherapy, mentalization-based psychotherapy, veteran mental health, clinical case consultation, and the integration of evidence-based and insight-oriented approaches to treatment.
My professional experience has also included scholarly writing, including peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on topics related to trauma, veteran mental health, and mentalization-based approaches. I have presented and written for both clinical and interdisciplinary audiences and continue to participate in and facilitate professional consultation through a longstanding peer consultation group. I'm available for select consultation, supervision, speaking, and training opportunities.
